New York City–based artist Lilian Kebudi was born in Brazil and moved to the U.S. in 1997. Since childhood, art has been her way of expressing emotions and navigating life changes.
Lilian works intuitively, without overthinking her lines, creating free-flowing organic forms. Her pieces have movement through unconventional lines and find balance in asymmetrical shapes.
The attacks on Israel on October 7th marked the beginning of a new phase in her work. She has been organically gravitating toward the color blue as an expression of her love for the homeland. Through her artwork, she explores what it means to be a Jewish woman in times of war and rising antisemitism, deepening her search for Jewish identity.
The hostility Lilian and her community faced in the art world after October 7th pushed her to found Stars In The Arts alongside fellow artist Annette Back. The organization brings together Israeli and Jewish artists from around the world through exhibitions and events. Learn more at starsinthearts.com.
