Martha’s Vineyard Jewish Culture Festival (Chabad)

We have been invited to participate in the Martha’s Vineyard Jewish Culture Festival, organized by Chabad, taking place on Monday, July 27.

This theme explores Shabbat as a lived experience: the Shabbat table, candlesticks and light, challah and Kiddush, textiles, family memory, quiet, and sanctuary. We are seeking artwork as well as objects to be exhibited.

Key Dates

  • DEADLINE to submit: Sunday, June 22 at 11:59 pm

  • Art Drop-off: The week of July 18–24 (details shared upon selection)

  • Art Pick-up: Available after August 1 (details shared upon selection)

 

Important: Artists will not be present at the venue. Stars in the Arts will represent selected artists and their work at the festival.

ARTWORK ACCEPTED (Shabbat-themed)

We are prioritizing smaller-scale work, works on paper, and table-display pieces, with limited space for grid wall works. Other accepted mediums: Paintings, Mixed Media on Canvas, Embellished Prints, Collages, and Photography. Free standing small Sculptures.

Size limits:

  • Works on Paper: Up to 20" x 24"

  • Tabletop / 3D Works: Up to 14" (largest measurement)

  • Grid Wall Pieces: Limited spaces available (small format strongly preferred)

Preparation Requirements:

  • All work must be signed by the artist.

  • Works on Paper: Must be properly packed in a clear cellophane sleeve with a firm backing.

  • Documentation: Each sleeve must include a Certificate of Authenticity inside.


FEES / COMMISSION

  • Free to submit.

  • Participation Fee (if selected): $25 for the first piece, plus $5 for each additional piece.

  • Sales Commission: Stars in the Arts retains 30% of all sales.

Artist Submission Policy

  • Review Process: Our curators will review all submissions after the deadline and reach out to selected artists for next steps.

  • Liability: We are not an insured entity. While we handle all work with the utmost care, we are not responsible for damages. We recommend insuring your work privately if this is a concern.

  • Drop-off/Pick-up: You or a trusted representative must be able to complete drop-off during the week of July 18–24 and arrange pick-up after August 1.


SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

You may submit up to 5 works. For each, include:

  • Title — Medium — Dimensions (H x W, include D for 3D)

  • Display Type: Indicate if the piece is Paper, Tabletop, or Grid Wall.

Price Expanded Submissions: If selected, and you would like to send more than 5 items, we will be happy to discuss that with you at that stage.

Where do you live?

Please make sure that you the artist or someone you trust will be able to drop off and pick up your artwork at the schedule date and time.
