ABOUT THE ARTIST
New York City-based Jewish artist Lilian Kebudi was born in Brazil and moved to the US in 1997. Since childhood, art has been her way of expressing her emotions and navigating life changes.
Lilian is a former graphic designer for the fashion industry in NYC, where she designed clothing for some of the biggest retailers in the US for over 18 years. Now she combines her experience in pattern design and color combination with her paintings and dedicates her creativity fully to her art.
Lilian works with her intuition without overthinking her lines, creating free-flow organic objects. Her pieces have movement through unconventional lines and find balance in asymmetrical shapes. Her color choices evoke calm and tranquility.
The attacks on Israel on October 7th mark the beginning of a new phase in her work, giving birth to the series "Could Be Me" and "Blue Period." Through her artwork, she has been advocating for the hostages held in Gaza and for what it means to be a Jewish woman in times of war and antisemitism.
